QLD & NSW Flood Victims Photo Appeal

I found this wonderful facebook page www.http://www.facebook.com/QLD-NSW-Flood-Victims-Photo-Appeal

They have over 30 photographers and counting who are registering with them offering photoshoots to families who have been affected by the flooding throughout QLD & NSW for FREE.
It is showing tremendous community spirit and although treasured photos people have lost cannot be replaced, portraits taken for them will be able to be hung in their houses to help make them feel more like home after the mammoth clean up has been done.
I have also registered to be a part of this organisation and will be adding more images to my blog as examples of my work for families to browse through so that they can see what my style of photography is like.
My heart goes out to each and every  person who has been touched by the flooding no matter how big or small the impact it has had on them.
I was not personally affected by flood water, but I have definately been affected emotionally as I can imagine many others have.

A Sneaky Post....hehehe

Just thought I'd sneak in a quick blog post while the kids are watching a movie in the lounge room. I'm sitting on my bed propped up with pillows, enjoying the breeze blowing through the window. The laptop comes in so handy sometimes...
Uh oh, someones coming....knew it was too good to be true!

Master 11 is hungry. I've sent him on his way to go and find a snack in the cupboard. That reminds me, I have couple of pictures of him all dressed and ready for his school Christmas performance. I might add that while I'm in here. He had to dress up as a ventriloquists dummy for his part.

Miss 5 was there too, all dressed up as a Christmas Angel for her class performance as well. I am so proud of them, they did a wonderful job!

That might do me for today. I think the movie they are watching is coming to an end, judging by the noise I can here coming from out there. Fingers crossed I find a few minutes tomorrow and I will post again!

2011

Well here we are in 2011 already! I have been so slack with my blog over the last month. My family and I had a lovely Christmas and New Years break and now I am ready to get back into my blogging full steam ahead!
I spent new year with family and met a couple of new friends while we were there too. During the night we were blessed with the company of 1 horse, 4 chickens and 3 cheeky possums.
The possums were the ones that had the most fun stealing our cheese from our platter and potato chips straight from the pack and even taking candy necklaces that had been left on the table for later by our children.

Looking quite innocent to start with....

Starting with a stolen cheese appetiser.....

Dessert.....

Hmmmmm.....I wonder what's in here.....oooooh chippies!

Although they seemed quite friendly, none of us were willing to try and take any of their stolen treats away from them as we were told they get a bit nasty if you do that. lol

Finally!

After 16 yrs together, my best friend and her partner finally tied the knot. It was a beautiful garden wedding surrounded by family and close friends. The bride was absolutely beautiful and the groom, well he was as handsome as ever. I may be a bit biased considering she is my best friend and all, but in all honesty the both looked fantastic!
These handsome young men are their four youngest sons (they have 7 kids between them.) The excitement in the air on the day was spreading like lightening.
Congratulations Cindy and Mick, you both look so happy!

We headed out to the local park for some romantic wedding pics before heading back to the reception.

Their youngest son, Jack had the honour of being ring bearer on the day and he did an outstanding job.  Well done Jack!
Everything came together beautifully and a great day was had by all.

Whizzing along with no training wheels!

Miss 5 is the youngest of my four children and has been practicing really hard since her daddy has been patiently teaching her to ride her bike without training wheels, and she has finally mastered it!
I took her to the local park which has many long paths to ride or walk along.
Taking the camera along was a must, take a picture mummy! take a picture mummy! was all I had been hearing in the lead up to our outing. :O)
Never one to complain about a photo opportunity I gladly packed my camera bag and took it along with us. Needless to say we both had a great morning and I got to enjoy some of the biggest smiles I have seen from Miss 5 ever!

Blog in progress

I have started this blog to follow my journey into life as a photographer. I have been taking photos and  sharing them for as long as I can remember. Isn't it amazing that you can press a button and in a second a moment in time is captured forever. Keeping milestones, favourite people, thoughts and feelings in pictures in print to browse back through anytime you feel like daydreaming about days gone by.

Wedding fever!

This has been the busiest part of my year so far. I have been sewing madly in preparation for my best friends wedding on Saturday! For a while there I had been dreaming of following her down the aisle picking pins from her outfit because I hadn't finished it on time. All that stress turned out to be in vain and her outfit is ready for her to wear!
It will be a quiet garden wedding, surrounded by family and friends. Her daughter (a fellow photographer) and I have been asked to take her photos! This will be my first wedding shoot.....and I am, to say the least a little nervous about the whole experience, as well as being excited at the same time. She has complete faith in both of us that we shall deliver! I shall keep you updated......
